‘Lit Up Inside’ US version is on sale now and available to purchase through City Lights bookstore.

Featuring a foreword by beat poet David Meltzer, 'Lit Up Inside' is a personal selection of what Van has judged to be some of his most important and enduring lyrical work.

Ian Rankin provides an additional foreword for the book and speaks on the influence that Van has had on his own life in the first of a short series of  ‘Lit Up Inside’ videos on Van’s YouTube channel. You can watch it here.

‘Lit Up Inside’ US book reviews:

Dick Weissman, Portland Book Review

"Van Morrison is renowned as a singer, songwriter, and rock artist. None of these descriptors do him justice. Very few rock and roll 'poets' would survive artistically if their songs appeared on the printed page without the music or the musical arrangements. . . . "

Austin Chronicle – Raoul Hernandez

Lit Up Inside, a roaring jukebox of the printed page.”

Jonah Raskin - SF Gate

“A master of the art of narration, he explores his childhood and early manhood: walking in the rain, falling in love, dancing in the moonlight and listening to popular American music.”

The book is available to purchase now from City Lights website or in store from City Lights San Francisco.
