Late summer and Van Morrison was stateside for the only East Coast date of 2017 at The Outlaw Music Festival Tour in Pennsylvania on September 10th.
The day-long event saw Van and his band joining a line-up that included the great Willie Nelson, himself the curator of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour, Sheryl Crow and The Avett Brothers.
Van took to the stage as the sun began to set above the 25,000 strong crowd in the Hershey Park Stadium and treated them to a timely and well received “Moondance” just as the night skies drew in.
Festival goers were entertained to a 75-minute set that included 18 hits including “Here Comes the Night”, “Cleaning Windows”, “Roll with the Punches” from the new album and culminating in “Gloria” that brought the entire stadium to its feet for a final time.
The morning after the night that was and the reviews confirmed that the set had hit the right note with the discerning festival crowd and critics alike including John Moser from The Morning Call who commented,
“The 75 minute set continually pleased with both song selection and powerful performance – putting timeless hits beside wonderful deep cuts and interesting covers” and “Morrison made sure it was a marvellous night for a Moondance.”
